Directed by Michael Rader (Cirque du Soleil), with music direction by Benjamin Ickies, and costuming by Miodrag Guberini (Rebel Heart Tour, The Black Party), Stargazing is an intimately electronic reimagining of musical constellations formed from stars old and new, including Kurt Weill, Kylie Minogue, Friedrich Hollaender, Olivia Newton-John, Edith Piaf, Madonna, ME, and Marlene Dietrich.

“Completely stellar…slyly subversive.”

Will Friedwald, The Wall Street Journal, New York City

Along with repertoire spanning the 1920’s through to today, my own pop originals will be represented, with selections performed from my electropop albums “Nova” and “Supernova” (Ninthwave Records), and cabaret EP “The Tease.”

Kim David Smith in Sparkle & Circulate and Out Magazine

I had the pleasure of sitting down with my intensely talented friend and orator, Justin Sayre, for his podcast “Sparkle & Circulate.” Serving as an online supplement to Justin’s wonderful work with “The Meeting” (a monthly meeting for the New York chapter of the  International Order of Sodomites), “Sparkle and Circulate” affords an intimate interview setting, in which I talk about my husband (and our ten wonderful years together), my music, posing naked for artists, and naturally, my religious affinity for Kylie Minogue.

Out Magazine recently published a preview of new works by my friend, designer John Brinegar, for his upcoming show “I Would Never Wear That.” I’ve included several amazing pieces by John in my Instagram feed, and the below image appeared in Out Magazine, in which I’m sporting one of John’s phenomenal cowls.

Below is a video from 2014’s Julie Andrews-themed edition of The Meeting, in which I mash-up Mary Poppins’ “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” with Missy Elliott’s “Work It” (loosely titled Mary HipHoppins):

“Kim brings the song to life with his beguiling vocals, injecting the lyrics with a studied heart and passion that is hard to resist. He effortlessly recreates the sounds of classic 80s synth bands yet manages to remain distinct with his own tonal qualities. He is the anchor of the song, holding together all the elements and steering them to an exhilarating conclusion.”

Never Ever is the second single from Smith’s forthcoming debut pop album, Nova, and features remixes by Ricardo Autobahn, Chameleon Musique, and DJ J-Mi & Midi-D.  Download the single EP on iTunes!
