Night of a Thousand Judys, the Neue Galerie, and Shanghai Mermaid!

I’m very excited to announce the following performance dates:

On Saturday, May 30th I’ll be performing my neo-Weimar, Marlene-Minogue mashups for Shanghai Mermaid, a divinely decadent soirée and salon held at the Downtown Association (60 Pine Street, NYC) from 10PM ’till late.  Click through for tickets and more information.

10985862_10152824605022116_574342741983739163_nMonday, June 1st sees my return to The International Order of Sodomites’ annual fundraising/pride gala for the Ali Forney Centre: “Night of a Thousand Judys!”

I’ll join a glittering cavalcade of downtown stars and music-makers in celebrating the life and music of Judy Garland, while raising funds for homeless LGBT youth —  the evening is very nearly sold out, so hurry on over to the Kaufmann Centre Website for tickets, and more information!  I’ve prepared an especially original arrangement of one of my most beloved Judy songs, and cannot wait to share it with all assembled!  Night of a Thousand Judys: Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Center (129 West 67th St.), 6:30 PM Pre-VIP Cocktail Reception. Showtime at 8 PM.

Lastly, on June 9th I’ll be representing my cabaret home-away-from-home, New York’s Neue Galerie, for the 2015 Museum Mile Festival with a free outdoor concert on the Galerie steps! Join me and my cabaret band as we explore my catalogue of genre-mashing originals and glittering Weimar-era fare, featuring re-imagined works by Friedrich Hollaender, Kylie Minogue, Kurt Weill, Madonna, Edith Piaf, Hans Eisler and myriad unexpected others. The Neue Galerie is located at 1048 Fifth Avenue (at 86th Street and 5th), and the programme commences at 6PM. See you there!

I had the pleasure of sitting down with my intensely talented friend and orator, Justin Sayre, for his podcast “Sparkle & Circulate.” Serving as an online supplement to Justin’s wonderful work with “The Meeting” (a monthly meeting for the New York chapter of the  International Order of Sodomites), “Sparkle and Circulate” affords an intimate interview setting, in which I talk about my husband (and our ten wonderful years together), my music, posing naked for artists, and naturally, my religious affinity for Kylie Minogue.

Out Magazine recently published a preview of new works by my friend, designer John Brinegar, for his upcoming show “I Would Never Wear That.” I’ve included several amazing pieces by John in my Instagram feed, and the below image appeared in Out Magazine, in which I’m sporting one of John’s phenomenal cowls.

Below is a video from 2014’s Julie Andrews-themed edition of The Meeting, in which I mash-up Mary Poppins’ “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” with Missy Elliott’s “Work It” (loosely titled Mary HipHoppins):
