Kim will be giving a free, outdoor performance at the Neue Galerie as part of the Museum Mile Festival, Tuesday June 11, 6PM!
Supported by bandleader Benjamin Ickies on accordion, Matt James on drums, and Andy Madej on tuba, Kim will lead listeners through disfigured pop treasures (including his own pop singles, “Never Ever” and “Jealous”) and period peculiarities from artists such as Kurt Weill, The Supremes, Hans Eisler, and many glittering others.
The Neue Galerie is located at 1048 Fifth Avenue, at 86th Street.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes sneak peek from the set of my upcoming music video! With artistic direction by the amazing Mauricio Rodriguez for RAM Imagery, styling by Machine Dazzle, hair/makeup by Drew Krake, and wardrobe designed by Justin Farnham.
Conceived and created with Benjamin Ickies (House of Yes, This Ambitious Orchestra), “The Tease” will be performed live in The Gallery at Le Poisson Rouge, alongside re-imagined works by Weimar-era composers, and modern-day artists alike, including: Friedrich Hollaender, Björk, the Supremes, Kylie Minogue, Hanns Eisler, and myriad glittering others. Featuring a full band accompaniment, Award-winning Australian performer Kim Smith charts a dark and whimsical path through a ruined, musical landscape of disfigured pop and peculiar period treasures with his debut cabaret EP recording (available in physical format post-show!).
Just in time for Halloween, we have let loose this seasonally appropriate, poptastic, dance-horror teaser of “Zombiez,” one of the tracks from my secret pop project!
